The Hall is a registered charity and operates strictly on a Not for Profit basis. Any surplus income is ploughed back into the hall either to add new facilities for the benefit of the community or to be retained to cover long term liabilities for capital projects such as a new roof or major repairs to the fabric of the building.
It costs around £12,000 every year to keep the hall running so we are extremely grateful for every donation that we receive.Every donation, contributing as it does to both the short term and long term costs of the hall, means that we are able to keep the cost of hire down for the benefit of our many local users

Volunteer

Just imagine what life might be like in Wisborough Green if the community was not able to find some volunteers to run the various organisations that make this place such an interesting and vibrant place to live! The village hall is one of our most important community hubs which hosts a diverse range of activities and events for the benefit of many local people - life would be very different without it!

The Village Hall Trust is run by a small group of volunteers (currently 8 Trustees plus 3 additional Committee members). These days, running a village hall is much more complicated than in days by gone with numerous regulations and legislation with which to comply as well as trying to respond to and manage the changing needs of our community in the 21st century. Most of the day to day work is done via the Hall Management Committee which meets approximately every 8 weeks to review the Hall's finances and bookings schedule and to discuss any issues that need to be resolved. Between meetings, Committee members occasionally need to open/close up after certain hires of the Hall and respond to occasional emails relating to issues that need a more immediate response.
Being a registered charity, we are always conscious of controlling our expenditure and that is why we try to encourage members of the community to offer what help they can to advise us and/or to carry out minor maintenance works at the Hall.

Ways in which you can help the hall by volunteering

1. become a Trustee (please read the Executive Committee Constitution here)
2. join the Hall Management Committee  (please read the Hall Management Committee Constitution here)
3. respond to requests for expert advice/ guidance which are made from time to time by the Hall Management Committee
4. offer your DIY skills to help maintain the hall - painting, decorating, small carpentry jobs
